Question:

From New York, USA:

My 18 year old friend was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 10 and has been taking injections since diagnosis. Is it possible for him to reduce his injection intake and reduce his need for insulin, and take oral hypoglycemic agents instead of injections?

Answer:

It sounds great. However, I don't think it is realistic.
